Core Curriculum

To meet the challenges of innovative education of 21st century, we are introducing blended learning solutions through the implementation of e-student program at daily educational activities. E-class is not only based on using an e-register but also on e-student’s books by making use of the latest solutions of ICT. The current researches illustrated by Pearson’s ‘Learning curve’ place our national educational system on 10^th position and British one on 6^th. The solutions we offer are the synergy of traditional methods of teaching with the latest trends in education based on ICT  implementation.

EDUCATION=OPPORTUNITIES

Compulsory educational activities in the International Secondary School in Zabrze are held according to Polish core curriculum under MEN decree. British curriculum is carried out, depending on the level of education, in grades I-III and IV-VI, at the amount varying from 8 to 14 hours a week. Division of the British curriculum subjects is framed according to the following programs of British National Curriculum by Pearson Global Schools.

English

English language forms key skills and competencies: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Levels of education adjusted to Polish educational requirements in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 – 6 -14 years old.

The basis of the British program in English language is reading various in genre (fiction, prose and poetry) multicultural and international texts. Their aim is to provide analysis, exploration and constructive criticism to understand the world.

Pearson Global Schools, The Bug Club Family Program,  General English in the division of core competencies – understanding of written and spoken texts, writing and speaking in the context of short stories in traditional, printed and e-book versions altogether with the access to e-learning platform (e-books).

Maths

The program is based on the National Numeracy Strategy which combines  theory and experience in different contexts regarding numbers, solving mathematical tasks in mind and problems.

Pearson Global Schools Abacus Program – Maths program for primary school, available in traditional version accompanied with e-books in the platform.

Science

Teaching science is an experiment and experience that stimulates, engages and supports students in enquiring practical skills while implementing scientific concepts. Learning becomes an adventure and a challenge.

The program includes the following content: science, biology, chemistry and physics.

Science Bug – the science program for primary school; available in traditional version mixed with platform subscription in a form of e-books.
